A drywall patch is only done when you can't see it after paint. We cut out damaged sections, set new board, tape and apply several thin coats of compound, then sand it flat to match the wall around it. For remodels and basements, we hang and finish new drywall from bare framing.

Things to decide early.
- Fix the cause first
- Water-stained drywall should only be replaced after the leak is repaired, or the damage comes back.
- Plan for paint
- Patches almost always need the whole wall repainted to blend, so we'll include that in the estimate if you want it.
- Dust and drying time
- Compound needs to dry between coats, so even small repairs usually take more than one visit.
